Six Key Tips For Using Blogs to Improve Your Web Traffic

!±8± Six Key Tips For Using Blogs to Improve Your Web Traffic

This might seem a bit trivial but I see this often since I use forums as part of my marketing mix. The question is how do you get people to pay attention to you once you get to the forum? There are six things that I would be concerned about when scoping out the forums. Here are the steps that I use to get traffic from forums.

1) Get your keywords formalized. It is important to have a collection of keywords that fit your niche. If you don't use Pay Per Click advertising you still need to collect at least 50 quality keywords for your niche. The point of focusing on your keywords is to tie your website to the chosen keywords.

2) Your choice of responses must work to your advantage and to do that you must consciously optimize your responses and input to match your website keywords. If you sell soft sculpture toys, your niche keywords might be perhaps toys and perhaps teddy bears or other soft toys. Your input and responses should include some of your keywords in order to bolster your back links to your website.

3) If you create articles or have a blog of your own, you can reference them in your responses on the forums. Let's say that you flagged a question on care and packaging or soft toys. You have a great answer to the post; so you compose an answer and reference your blog post from last year. You hyperlink the blog post line and ensure that you have a few keywords from your blog in the post. So you would write something like this: "I know how tough it is to store and ship soft toys I wrote a blog post on it at my blog - (blog name). This is solution to the problem is (fill in the blank).

4) There is a certain trick to using forums for marketing purposes. You should carefully craft your bio or your signature section to promote your squeeze page or blog. Once again you should make certain that your keywords are injected in your signature. If you are selling the soft toys at softhuggybears.com, you might have a signature that says "How to take good care of your soft huggy bears. Get my FREE report at softhuggybears.com." make the case for your solution to their problem.

5) Keep the conversation on topic and move it along with your responses. Once you reply to the original post, send another post to add a twist to the conversation and perhaps pose a follow up question for the other members to respond to. That keeps the thread open and more people will read it. More people reading the thread means more people involved in the conversation and seeing your signature.

6) If the forum has an article section, contribute to that section as often as you can. Take a few of your blog posts and reconfigure them into articles. You'll need to reach a lot of forums to make this pay off. Don't stop at one or two forums and expect the get a flood of traffic. This is a business venture and must be treated as such.

This is a great way to get back links and build your reputation as well more traffic to your website. Be sure to get your facts straight when posting and stay honest. People will hold you accountable when you are solving their problems.

How the 70s Shaped the Fashion World

!±8± How the 70s Shaped the Fashion World

I admit it, I am an avid fan of the world of seventies fashion and costumes. I love the ostentatiousness of this era, and its blatant disregard for subtlety or elegance. Which decade can lay claim to flared trousers, concord collars and 'big' curly hair? And which decade gave birth to disco music, and disco fashion? Why the 70's of course!

It's my argument that the 1970s gave birth to the modern fashion world! Indeed, you only have to look to the catwalks and the world of Haute Couture to realise that the trend towards theatricality in fashion has its roots in the 70s. Look at designers like Vivienne Westwood, and you'll see an extreme aesthetic born of the 1970s punk era. And there are countless other designers that also take their inspiration from this period.

But just what is it about the fashions of this era that proves so appealing to people? First of all I would say that it's the sense of boldness and confidence. Flared trousers are a great example of this. Are they practical or sensible? No. Do they look elegant in the traditional sense? No again. But do they make you smile and make an impact? Yes!

Look at TV programmes such as 'Starsky and Hutch' and you will witness a range of clothes that will make your eyes pop. The main characters sport thick jumpers with patterned designs. Strangely enough these kinds of jumpers are fashionable once more! These guys also permed their hair and wore big 'over the top' sunglasses. Subtle they were not, but man did they look cool!

Another totally cool character from the world of Starsky and Hutch was the totally brilliant 'Huggy Bear'. As well as bearing one of the best names of any character in television he also helped to form the 'pimp' look. This included one piece 'leopard skin' suits, canes, wide brimmed hats and of course the obligatory 'big' sunglasses. Hip Hop artists in recent years have helped to bring this look back to the forefront of popular culture and fashion.

Of course one of the most extreme fashions from the 1970s was punk. This was born of the punk rocker music movement, and it embodied the sense of anger and disenfranchisement of the youth of that era, particularly in the UK. Bands like The Sex Pistols helped to rock the very foundations of the political and cultural world and also changed the face of fashion. Tight denim, Mohawks and bovver boots were the order of the day, and this stripped down but rebellious aesthetic helped symbolise the energy and anger of these young men and women. And whilst the punk movement isn't with us now in the strictest sense, it has helped to influence countless bands of the 90s and beyond, such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the Foo Fighters.

Of course the movement that helped define the 70s the most was Disco. Films such as 'Saturday Night Fever' helped to popularise disco music and its fashions. Who can forget the way that John Travolta looked in that white suit and black shirt, and of course, his big hair and gold medallion. Indeed when most people dress in 70s costumes it is this look that they try to emulate most.

I hope this brief journey through the world of the 1970s has helped to convince you just how influential this era was in terms of defining our modern attitude to fashion and style. As far as I'm concerned even now the 1970s rule!

Kids Halloween Costumes - Famous Bears That Children Adore

!±8± Kids Halloween Costumes - Famous Bears That Children Adore

With the excitement of Halloween creeping up very fast (yes I can't wait either) It is by far for most of us our favorite part of the year, a chance to forget worries and let our hair down, dress up for fun and games, but especially see our children glowing with enthusiasm in their latest and favorite Halloween costumes.

We all know that the choice and range of costumes is extremely huge and sometimes intimidating in our search, with so much choice can lead to as I call, costume block, and make us panic and buy something for our child which may turn out to be the wrong choice, but with so much, where could one start.

A costume idea overlooked is the fact that most kids, from toddler to school-age will always have a favorite Famous Bear to turn too, Bears that make them smile and dance. There are a lot of Famous Bears, and reflecting on which ever Bear makes your child's day, may lead the path to finding the holy grail of Halloween costumes for your child.

If we look around, in the child's world there is always a Famous bear about, From Big Blue Bear to Yogi Bear, there is a huge list of potential adorable costumes for all children in sizes and ages. Lets take a quick look at some of the most popular and highest quality of costumes that may hopefully give you direction for choosing a Costume for your kid.

Fozzie Bear
From the excellent Muppet Show, Fozzie Bears "Waka Waka" catchphrase after telling bad jokes will always stick brightly in my mind, and the Fozzie Bear costume available for toddler and infants are stunning.

Winnie The Pooh
A very famous loveable Bear, very distinctive and also set for a return in a movie in 2011, comes in an adorable all in one soft plush yellow and red jump-suit.

Goldilocks's Three Bears
This famous bedtime story has produced a lot of toddler and infant Bear costumes that are outrageously cute and must be seen.

Teddy Bear
The original Bear comes in all shapes, sizes and styles. From the traditional Bear to Koalas, Pandas, Honey Bears, Huggy Bear and Oatmeal Bear, the choice is endless and the quality of each look is a must for any bunting, infant or child.

Yogi Bear
Yogi is my favorite and this year in November, is returning in a new movie so once again will be very popular. The Yogi Bear child costume is just stunning, too cute and sure to be one of the biggest hits this Halloween.

We could easily keep going with the amount of famous Bear Halloween costumes as I'm sure I have missed tons, but even with this selection, finding a unique Halloween costume to delight your child can be made a little easier with their favorite famous Bear to help.

5 Themes to Decorate a Boys Room

!±8± 5 Themes to Decorate a Boys Room

While you might prefer fancy bunnies and teddy bears for your little boy's room, an apppropriate theme-based bedding for kids and theme-based Decor will give you a unique room with the flexibility to change while your child grows. Here are five solid themes that you can use to put a sparkle into your little boy's room.

Bugaboo (Bugs)
Nature's creatures often captivate a child and get their attention in a hurry. Boys adore reptiles and insects such as bees, frogs, grasshoppers, lizards and other creepy crawlers. Why not bring their fascination indoors while keeping the real creatures outdoors where they belong.

Animals
A design centered around a boy's favorite pet is a wonderful idea. Bird, snake, hamster, cats or dog themes will make your son (and his similar pet) feel at home. It's easy to hang lots of pictures of the boy and his animal friends and scatter stuffed animals of his pet's species about the room.

He is sure enjoy having his best friend around especially since, like most children, his life is already centered around his pet.

Race Cars
Zoom Zoom! Think of checked flags, engines and the like. Use rugs with the little speed demon's favorite track design. The daredevil will have a lot of fun with walls adorned with car wall decor and appliques. For good measure add framed photos or posters of race cars, NASCAR is particularly popular among boys now. Erect some small shelving to show off his toy race car collection.

Transportation themed bedding is always a good choice for a boy's room whether planes, trains or automobiles.

Troopers
Armed forces decor is a classic choice for boys. Whether he likes the Marines, Army, Air Force or Navy, he will feel patriotic and inspired by outfitting his space with traditional armed forces images and fabrics like camoflauge, army green or desert colors.

Add tanks, humvees and army vehicles for a dynamic effect. Painting the wall in camouflage is also a great idea.

Sports
This one is guaranteed to be a hit! Sports teams are guaranteed to engage a kid's attention for years. Even dad wouldn't mind his room decorated with sports team items. It's a great way for father and son to share enthusiasms.

Just add items from baseball, soccer, hockey or any sports that is of special interest to your boy. You can create a sports themed room with other sport equipment and icons. Sports area rugs, beds, boys bedding sheets or quilts, valances or drapes will add that finishing touch.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to decorating with sports themes, so let your imagination go for it.

Joseph's Life-a Series of "Coincidences"

!±8± Joseph's Life-a Series of "Coincidences"

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is the story of Joseph. If you read and really understand this story, you will see that nothing is coincidental and that all things work according to God's plan. It might not be according to YOUR plan, but it all works out for the best.

Just check out the story of Joseph.

Joseph had a bunch of brothers. I think it was about 12 of them mugs altogether. But Joseph's father loved him the best. The reason he loved him more is because Joseph's father had a bunch of baby Momma's and he loved Joseph's mother more than the other momma's and therefore was the proudest of Joseph.

The other brothers didn't like Joseph because of their father's blatant favoritism. (Side note: you should never treat any of your children better than the others. If you don't believe me, check out this story for proof.)

Well, one day, Joseph's father bought him a really nice coat with a lot of colors in it. It was an expensive coat and his brothers were jealous because of it. To give you an example using today's standards--did you ever watch the movie, Starsky and Hutch where Snoop Dog plays Huggy Bear? I think it's on either Showtime or HBO right now. Towards the end of the show, Snoop comes out in this big old fur coat with a lot of colors in it. I don't know why, but when I saw that movie, I thought of Joseph and wondered if his coat looked anything like the one Snoop Dog was wearing in that movie.

Anyway, I digress.

Well, Joseph loved the coat and wore it all the time. Then, one day Joseph had a dream and made the apparent mistake of sharing his dream with his brothers. He dreamed that one day they would bow down to him.

Well, if this wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back. His
brother's started plotting and came up with a plan to get rid of him so that their father can stop showing him all the love and start showing them some. Their plan was to kill him. One of the brother's talked them out of killing him and made them agree to simply put him in a ditch and leave him there. They were going to bring his coat back home and tell his father that some wild animal must have killed Joseph.

So they did. They threw him in the ditch and took his coat. But then, they had another fantastic idea. There were these guys who were buying people to bring them to Egypt to be slaves. So, the brother's said, hey, why not make a few bucks off of him and sell him to these guys as a slave. This way our brother's blood won't be on our hands, but he will be out of our lives.

That's exactly what they did.

Now, I don't know about you, but if I were Joseph, I might not be able to see any Godly plan in all of this. How could this be a POSITIVE thing--my brothers selling me into slavery and taking my Huggy Bear coat?

I know I would have gotten angry with my brothers and been ready to fight. I probably would have gotten a little angry with God, too, for allowing this to happen to me.

There will be times when you are working towards a goal or towards something that is important to you, and then something comes out of nowhere and sets you back. At the time, it might seem like a horrible thing. But chances are, it is not. God has a plan. You might not understand His plan it right now, but trust me, He does.

Well, back to Joseph.

He gets sold into slavery.

Listen to this. God never left his side. Joseph knew this and simply allowed God to lead his life.

Because God loved him and showed favor to him, Joseph wasn't the kind of slave that we visualize when we think of slavery. He wasn't picking cotton and singing, "Swing Lo'". No, none of that. But he was a slave who had a wise master. His master saw that God was with Joseph and that everything that Joseph did, even though he was a slave, prospered. So, his master found favor in him and made him a "house slave." Joseph's job
was to take care of the master's needs.

Joseph was cool with where he was and simply went with the flow. He remained positive and held fast to his belief in God.

His master had a wife who was big on Joseph. I liken her to a "gold digger." She saw that everything Joseph did was prosperous and so she wanted to get her hands around him and get in like Flynn. But Joseph was a godly man and was not going to sleep with his master's wife. Then, like any other Gold Digger, she got highly offended because Joseph wasn't falling for her little games. She figured he'd get him back by
lying to her husband and telling her husband that Joseph was trying to get with her. This, of course, angered her husband, Joseph's master, who couldn't believe that Joseph would do such a thing, especially after how wonderful he had treated Joseph. But, of course, he took his wife's word over Joseph's and had Joseph put in jail.

Now, I don't know about the laws back then, but that seemed like a harsh punishment for coming on to someone's wife (even though he never did come on to her). But, nevertheless, that is where he ended up.

So now, look at Joseph's life--his brothers get angry with him because their father loves him more (nothing Joseph has control over). Then, he gets sold into slavery--gets a good master, but a bad master's wife, who gets him thrown in jail for nothing.

Seems rather hard, doesn't it?

But God isn't finished with him yet. Everything happens for a reason.

Joseph goes to jail and is simply forgotten--or so it seems. Time keeps ticking away and he has more than served his time. Why is he forgotten? Well, because right now the timing isn't right. Everything works in God's time--not ours.

Even though he is in jail, God is still with him and the wardens find favor in him (isn't it "coincidental" that everyone finds favor in Joseph? No, because nothing is coincidental. Everything happens for a reason. God has him in jail--waiting for the right time so He is going to make his stay as pleasant as possible.)

While he was in jail, he interprets two inmates' dreams, both of which come true exactly the way he said they would. One gets out and one gets the electric chair (or the equivalent to the electric chair nowadays.)

The one that gets out is supposed to remind the people that Joseph is there so he, too, can get out. But, he forgets about Joseph. Sounds like a bad thing, doesn't it? Well, it is not because the timing still isn't right for the plan that God has for Joseph.

Then one day the King has a dream that bothers him. He doesn't
understand what it means, but feels that it has a meaning to it. There is no one who could interpret his dream. This is when the guy (who happens to be the baker for the King--coincidence? Not at all) remembers Joseph and how accurate he was in his dream interpretation.

So, they call Joseph out of jail. He interprets the dream and the King puts him in charge of saving Egypt by preparing for the drought that is going to hit the land over the next seven years. He is no longer a slave but the most important person in Egypt.

WOW. Now this entire story is fantastic when you think of it. His brothers HAD to do what they did. Even though it was evil and the whole nine yards, but without this part of his life, Joseph would not have been able to save Egypt. See how everything works for the best.

If Joseph wasn't sold into slavery and given the master that he was given, you know, the one with the whore, gold digging, wife, Joseph probably would never have ended up in jail where he happen to be at the exact same time as the two men who had dreams. If he wasn't there to interpret their dreams, who knows what could have happened? Even more "coincidental" one of the inmates was let go. If both of them died, no one would have known that Joseph could interpret dreams. And the ex-con
who lived, just coincidentally worked as a baker for the King, who coincidentally (two years later mind you) had a dream that needed to be interpreted.

Now, if after reading this you still believe in coincidences, I don't know what to tell you. Your life is not a series of coincidences, but a series of related events that is planned out by God.

When hardships come into your life, it is just preparing you for the greatness that is on the way. Now, your timing may not be aligned with God's timing so just be patient. Everything happens for a reason, and your day to shine is on its way.

Oh, and by the way, Joseph's brothers did end up bowing down to him--just as they did in the dream that started it all.
